In partnership with the Canadian Women’s Foundation, our new FREE Girls Can program aims to provide those who identify as girls aged 9 to 13 with access to high-quality, interactive learning in a safe, fun, non-judgmental environment while instilling confidence and helping girls to gain scientific literacy. Activities may include robotics, coding, game design, sound engineering and more.
Girls Can runs weekly Thursday nights, virtually (via Microsoft Teams) for 14 weeks, starting February 18 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Priority will be given to youth from low-income, Indigenous, or recent immigrant families, or those who identify as 2SLGBTQI+ or who have a disability.
Participants will work with mentors to help decide the direction of future sessions. There will also be visits from special guests aiming to inspire and boost the self esteem of the group.
(Due to COVID restrictions, Girls Can is currently a virtual-only program.)
Please note that we will review all applications and you will be contacted if your child has been selected for the program.
